It can be very challenging to balance both working and school as a full-time college student. Especially if, like me, you’re completely financially independent while trying to put yourself through school.

Throughout college, I’ve tried many different side hustles that have helped me make rent and put food on the table. While each job has had its pros and cons, one thing that’s always been helpful is having a work schedule that isn’t a 9-to-5 so I have time to take my classes during the day.

My ongoing search for the best side hustles has involved a lot of experimenting. Some have been more successful than others, but I’ve learned a lot about myself — and about managing your money when you live on inconsistent income.
